Don and the former Linda Jackson were married July 2, 1961 at the First Christian Church in Ponca City. The couple met while he was a student at the University of Missouri and she was attending Stephens College for Women, both in Columbia, Mo.

07/03/11 An Oklahoma State Championship qualifying tournament sponsored by the Professional Putters Association was held recently in Ponca City. At the Putt-Putt golf course, David Chisum of Austin, Texas was the winner of the professional division with a score of 266 for the nine-round event.
