Man charged with drunken driving after Vt. accident

02/07/11 Monday February 7, 2011 STAMFORD, Vt. -- State police charged a North Adams man with drunken driving late Friday night after the vehicle he was driving slid off the shoulder of Main Road (Route 8) and got stuck in a snowbank. Steven Lebeau, 46, was taken to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing and later released on a citation to appear in Bennington District Court at a later date.

Truck plunges into Sakonnet River; Tiverton firefighter hurt during rescue

09/30/10 A vehicle veered off the road and plunged into the Sakonnet River Thursday morning. According to Tiverton Fire Captain Kevin Ratcliffe, dispatchers received a call at 10:20 a.m. reporting that a truck had gone over the sea wall in the vicinity of 2040 Main Road. When Tiverton police and fire officials responded, they discovered the vehicle had landed wheels down at the base of the embankment.
