12/21/09 DAYTON, Ore., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Kunze Farms of Dayton, Ore., recalled 32,950 pounds of shelled hazelnuts because of a risk of salmonella, federal health officials said.

Kunze Farms Recalls Hazelnut Kernels because of Possible Health Risks

12/18/09 Kunze Farms of Dayton, Oregon is recalling 32,950 lbs. of hazelnut kernels because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
