04/17/11 George McClellan McClellan graduated from West Point in 1846, second in his class. He was sent to Fort Vancouver in 1853 to find the best route for a railroad from the East. He left the military in 1857 to become a railroad executive, then went back into the Army during the Civil War.

Boggs, longtime Fort football coach, dies at 69

04/14/11 Gary Boggs, who coached football at Fort Vancouver High School for 34 years and inspired a countless number of players and students, died Thursday night from complications from cancer. He was 69 years old. Boggs fell ill Thursday and dozens of family and friends rushed to Southwest Washington Medical Center to say their goodbyes prior to his death at around 8 p.m.
