07/18/11 HOLLY RIDGE, N.C. (AP) -- A North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper has struck and killed a pedestrian walking in the road. Authorities say Trooper D.M. Banks hit 25-year-old Bradley Keith Carie of Elizabeth City around 3 a.m. Sunday. Carie was reportedly walking in the middle of the left southbound lane on U.S. Highway 17 Bypass.
