Fletcher man spends final moments with tornado victim

05/26/11 Al Cox was working a contract job on a building in El Reno when he and his crew got word the tornado was headed directly for them.  Cox and his crew loaded up and headed back to Lawton, but the highway was blocked.  They tried heading back to El Reno and ended up near that oil and gas rig that was hit just north of I-40.  What happened next, Cox says he will never forget.

Taser-shocked granny settles suit with El Reno

04/05/11 Lona M. Varner and her grandson, Lonnie D. Tinsley, sued El Reno, OK, and police officers after she was subdued with a Taser on Dec. 22, 2009, in her apartment. The amount of the settlement has not been disclosed.
