    Man accidentally shot by Portland officer had struggled with mental illness

    07/01/11 William Kyle Monroe was accused of third-degree assault in June 2010 in Washington's Snohomish County in connection with an assault in a mental health unit. The charge was dismissed when he was civilly committed to Western State Hospital on July 2, 2010.
