05/30/11 Memorial Day is celebrated Monday around Snohomish County. Don't get it confused with Veteran's Day, which is the day to honor military veterans. Memorial Day is a time to honor those who died serving our country. It was first recognized in 1868 to honor those who died fighting in the Civil War.
