02/13/11 Bette Ann Rice was born September 15, in Pomona, CA, to James William Rice and Mabel Graham Rice. Bette spent her early life in Southern California, including Glendale and Pasadena. At Age ten, her father's oil business took the family to Houston, TX. It was there that Bette attended St. Agnes Girls' Academy and accepted her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
01/27/11 OKANOGAN - Voters in the Okanogan, Oroville and Grand Coulee Dam school districts should have ballots for the Feb 8 special election by now. Ballots went into the mail Jan. 20.
01/08/11 NESPELEM - Two people were injured Jan. 7 when their car collided with a snowplow on state Highway 155 a half-mile south of Nespelem. Plow driver Richard Jay Moomaw, 53, Omak, was not injured, the Washington State Patrol said.
01/06/11 Charles Allen "Chuck" Hoback, 62, of Omak, WA, passed away December 30, 2010, at Central Washington Hospital, after a triumphant 30 year extended illness. He was born January 5, 1948, to Donald and Dorthy (Gniot) Hoback in Coulee Dam, WA. He spent his school years in Coulee Dam, excelling in baseball as a four year letterman.

He was born March 31, 1919, seven miles NW of Bridgeport, WA on the Alexander Homestead to Fred Noble Alexander and Edith Mable (Halterman) Alexander. He attended grade school and high school in Wenatchee, WA.

She was born the year of the great influenza pandemic on March 31, 1918, in Burlington, WA to Cecil Benjamin Talley and W. H. (Fred) Talley, Jean grew up in Spokane, WA, graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in 1936.
06/19/10 NESPELEM - A 58-year-old Arlington man died in a motorcycle crash June 18 just north of town. Jonny D. Hosner was southbound around 2:19 p.m. on state Highway 155 when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left about .12 mile north of town, a Washington State Patrol memo said. |
