    01/06/09 National Weather Service officials are warning Upper Kittitas County communities and residents, especially those between the Cascade crest and Easton, that heavy snow fall tonight and Wednesday morning, a warming trend and then steady rains through Thursday will create extreme avalanche dangers and possible flooding in low-lying areas that have been prone to flood in the past.

    01/05/09 HYAK -- I-90 Snoqualmie Pass remains closed Monday morning because of extreme avalanche danger and reduced visibility. The closure is from North Bend to Cle Elum. WSDOT crews continue to monitor the snow pack, and say avalanche control work will be done at several locations throughout the day.
