Modesto election candidate list growing

07/11/11 A week before the filing period opens for the November election, there's a packed field for Modesto's top elective office and contests in four City Council districts. The most recent candidates to pull papers are Kenneth Zanolini, a credit director who is running for mayor; and Douglas Dyrssen Jr., president of the Associated Students of Modesto Junior College, who is running for a council seat.
