Other news06/14/11 Alli Hoffmire of the North Whidbey Aquatic Club and the Fidalgo Flippers of Anacortes won two gold medals in the 2011 Special Olympics Washington State Games at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way June 4 and 5.
06/15/11 Today is the last day to submit public comment on a North Whidbey community's dredging project. The Mariners Beach Cove Club is seeking to dredge a maximum of 4,820 cubic yards of sediment from the channel entrance of its private marina a few miles south of Strawberry Point. The project is under the review of the state Department of Ecology, and the agency is seeking input from the public.
06/23/11 Ed Wood is on a mission to change state laws regarding drugged driving. Wood has a very personal stake in the issue. His son, 33-year-old Brian Wood, was among three people killed in a Sept. 3, 2010, car crash on North Whidbey last fall.
