Late-night collision kills two on State Route 18

07/07/11 While attempting a U-turn on State Route 18 near the Raging River late Wednesday night, July 6, a 65-year-old man was killed when his car collided with a tractor-trailer. A woman riding in the car was transported to Harborview Medical Center but died later of her injuries.

State trooper shoots fleeing driver near Burlington

07/13/11 BURLINGTON -- A Washington State Patrol chase ended with a trooper shooting the fleeing driver in a potato field near Burlington. Trooper Keith Leary says the wounded man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is expected to recover. No troopers were hurt.

07/13/11 It is unknown what prompted the trooper to shoot the suspect A 36-year-old Ferndale man was airlifted to Harborview Medical center after he was shot in the head by a state trooper Wednesday morning, Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said.
