 01/11/10 Last May when I wrote about the U.S. Navy P5M Martin Marlin seaplane that landed in Ascarate Lake, a reader wrote to tell me that there was once a racetrack around Ascarate Lake. He also remembered a death that occurred during a race in the 1950s. I wasn't able to find the article at the time but came across it while researching the Plaza Christmas tree.
