    Town is accepting applications for Lacher's council position; deadline Dec. 30

    12/09/09 County Fire Marshal Bob Low has applied for the Friday Harbor Town Council seat that will become vacant when Carrie Lacher becomes mayor Jan. 1. Low received 305 votes to Lacher's 429 votes in the mayoral election Nov. 3. Lacher's council term expires Dec. 31, 2011.     Fighting Fillies play for the love of football

    12/09/09 The Portland Fighting Fillies, a member of the Women's Football Alliance, are Oregon's only professional women's football team. Practices are in full force for their debut season of 12 games, running March through June. Games will be played across the West, including in Nevada, California, Utah and Washington. The Fillies' local games will be played at Liberty High School in Hillsboro.
