Basketball update: Pateros boys place fifth in state

02/27/10 YAKIMA - The Pateros boys capped their season with a 43-40 victory over Lake Quinault on Feb. 27 to finish fifth place and bring home their first-ever tropy in the class 1B boys state tournament.

Criminals sentenced in Lackawanna County

02/27/10 A Dunmore man arrested on drug charges was sentenced to 28 months to seven years in state prison recently in Lackawannna County Court. Brandon Christiano, 23, of 1623 Electric St., was arrested Sept. 15, 2008, on possession of heroin charges in the 1800

The 'not-so-polar' plunge brings in a record number of swimmers

02/27/10 Thanks to the sunny skies and relatively warm temperatures Saturday the more than 100 swimmers taking part in the Medical Lake Polar Plunge, including Spokane's Police Chief and Sheriff, had it pretty easy.
