JLOSH contest nurtures volunteer pride among youth

07/14/11 Two Essex county second graders have won $100 to put their good ideas to work through the Littlest Volunteers Contest, sponsored by the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills (JLOSH). The youngsters, Carlos Osco of West Orange and Lila Price of Maplewood, were chosen from 30 participants who entered the contest to offer their inspiring ideas on ways to help others in their community.

La Villa Goes 3-0 In Pool Play On Day One Of State 7 on 7 Tournament

07/15/11 La Villa's team may represent the smallest school in the state 7 on 7 tournament at College Station, b ut they came up big in pool play going 3-0 against Boyd, Burnet, and a Ty Detmer-coached Austin St. Michael's team that featured a quarterback committed to the University of Miami. Now the Cardinals must face West Orange-Stark in the Division II championship bracket Friday.
