    06/08/11 Violet L. Thurston, 76, of Crystal Rock, died Tuesday morning, June 7, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Vinton County, Ohio. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Before she was married, Violet used to be a Candy Striper at Good Samaritan Hospital. read more

    05/05/10 LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - A Louisa County man is behind bars, accused of having more than 100 online images of child porn. Twenty-two-year-old Richard Shaffer was indicted for 20 counts of possession of child pornography. He faces up to 100 years in prison if convicted.
