Uintas avalanche kills Wyoming man

11/29/10 An avalanche killed an experienced snowmobiler Friday afternoon east of Kamas. The victim was identified as 54-year-old Dennis K. Barnes of Evanston, Wyo. Officials say the slide occurred in the Humpy Creek drainage in the Uinta Mountains at about 2:05 p.m.

Snowmobiler dies in Unitas

06/27/11 Mark Horsley, 51, of Riverton, Utah, died Sunday in a snowmobile accident on Bald Mountain in the Uinta Mountains near Kamas.According to Rockport State Park Manager Joe Donnell, a group of six individuals were snowmobiling in the area when a member of the group's snowmobile became stuck around 2:30 p.m. Horsley went to help and was unable to stop his snowmobile while traveling downhill,
