 01/08/10 Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced Friday that work to clear debris from a massive rockslide along U.S. 64 in Polk County will be completed by March 31. The rockslide, which occurred on Nov. 10, buried a portion of U.S. 64 in Polk County under thousands of tons of debris.
 01/04/10 Construction crews with Blalock and Sons resumed breaking up large boulders at the base of the slide using a hoe-ram after having hauled approximately 160 truck loads (more than 3500 tons) of debris off of the Polk County rockslide site on Saturday and Sunday.
01/04/10 Contractors say they mostly are finished removing loose rock from the western portion of Little Frog Mountain, where a rock slide closed U.S. Highway 64 on Nov. 10.
 12/11/09 Today, crews continued with trim blasting by setting off a series of trim blasts on the western side of the slide area to remove an unstable plane of rock on the slope face at the rockslide at the Ocoee Gorge.
 12/09/09 Crews with contractor Charles Blalock & Sons continued drilling the unstable rock face on the west side of the main slide area as they prepare for a series of trim blasts that will begin Thursday morning.
 12/07/09 Crews with contractor Charles Blalock & Sons Construction today continued drilling on the western side of the rockslide in the Ocoee Gorge in preparation for a series of trim blasts scheduled for Thursday, weather permitting.

11/18/09 Hundreds of Polk County motorists have seen their work-day commutes double in the wake of last week's rock slide that closed U.S. Highway 64.
 11/13/09 Again we have another rock slide on Highway 64 which runs through the Ocoee Gorge. They claim it will take at least three weeks before the road is again open for traffic. Ambulances and emergency vehicles will have to go the long way around via Tellico Plains again.
