07/15/11 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A U.S. Air Force airman from Des Arc is among three airmen honored by France for rescuing two downed French helicopter pilots in Afghanistan.

07/19/11 Richard Carlton Gray, 85, of Asheville, died July 12, 2011. He was a native of Tallahassee, Fla., a veteran of the Air Force, and received his B.S. degree in geology from Florida State.

W. Volleyball. Ben Wallis Hired as Assistant Volleyball Coach

07/18/11 New Mexico head volleyball coach Jeff Nelson recently announced the hiring of Ben Wallis as an assistant coach for the Lobos' program. Wallis, who was the head coach of Cleveland High School from 2009-11, will be primarily responsible for scouting and will also assist with the recruiting efforts, camps and, of course, on-court coaching.
