04/11/11 Paulo Szot will reprise his Tony-winning performance as Emile de Becque in the London transfer of Bartlett Sher's production of South Pacific, which begins performances at London's Barbican Theatre Aug. 15 for a run through Oct. 1, prior to a U.K. national tour. He will be joined by local TV star Samantha Womack, previously known as Samantha Janus, as Nellie Forbush.
04/25/11 Recently, the Philadelphia Orchestra announced it would be filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection (the reorganization variety) and Intiman Theatre in Seattle let go of its staff (including its artistic director) and canceled its season in an effort to get a handle on its operations and save itself from an imminent death.
