Children in need are given the opportunity to shop at Wal-Mart with a sheriff's deputy and a Ladies Auxiliary member. After the shopping trip, the deputies and auxiliary members wrap the gifts and they are delivered to the children closer to Christmas.

Gene Newman, 91; Veteran Airline Pilot

10/01/09 Gene J. Newman, a veteran pilot, flight instructor and former longtime resident of Pacific Palisades, died at his son's home in Madera, California, on September 20. He was 91.
