    Tea Area ranks leanest in state in spending per student

    01/14/10 At $5,793, Tea Area again spent less money per student last year than any South Dakota school district, according to figures recently released by the Department of Education. Tea Area has been the leanest district since its inception in 2003-04. The state's 157 districts spent an average of $7,850 per student last school year, up from $7,520 the year before.
