Other news07/18/11 WASHINGTON (AFP) - With a fife and drum band playing Yankee Doodle and civil war re-enactors sweltering in the summer sun, a museum honoring the contribution of African Americans in the US Civil War moved into its new home in Washington Monday.
07/17/11 BARBOURSVILLE -- Bud Thompson loves going back to the days of the Civil War. The reenactor from Tazewell, Va., plays a blacksmith, and at one time in his life spent every weekend of the summer heading out to Civil War events to wow kids with his demonstrations and educate folks on how important the role of the blacksmith was during the war.
07/19/11 Nevada State Parks invites the public to a day of free presentations on the Emigrant Trail at Mormon Station State Historic Park on July 23. The outdoor presentations is form 10am-5pm.
