07/13/11 The City of Altoona Police and Fire Commission members met Tuesday evening and narrowed the number of candidates for the open Altoona Police/Fire Chief position to four candidates.

Marijuana plants discovered during NY house fire

07/11/11 Firefighters responding to the fire at 2:40 a.m. Sunday found four bedrooms filled with the plants. Yonkers Assistant Fire Chief George Kielb told the Journal News "it was basically a pot-growing house."
