Ambrose Schindler followed his own road to success at USC and beyond

07/10/11 Schindler helped USC win a national championship in football in 1939 and played a stunt double in "The Wizard of Oz." But he bypassed the NFL and Hollywood for a career in coaching and teaching. Ambrose Schindler, player of the game in the 1940 Rose Bowl, inspired one of the most delightfully alliterative nicknames in USC football history: Amblin' Amby.
