Dorena-Hickman Ferry closed due to ice

01/08/10 HICKMAN, KY - The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is closed due to ice in the Mississippi River. Captain Ed Floyd halted ferry operations for the day at about 3:00 p.m. today due to ice accumulating at the mouth of Hickman Harbor. The ice presents a safety and navigation hazard for the ferry.

Dorena-Hickman Ferry back in service

01/18/10 HICKMAN, KY - The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is back in service after being shut down for over a week. The ferry had been out of service since Friday, January 8th when ice accumulation in the Hickman Harbor made the waterway impassable.
