New oil spill event discovered near Ray

04/26/11 The vice president of Murex Petroleum says an oil spill on a location between Ray and Tioga along U.S. 2 is being blown out of proportion, but the state is taking the discovery seriously. “It looks like significantly more oil than had been reported,” said Lynn Helms, director of the Department of Mineral Resources Oil and Gas Division.

Regulator Expects Steady Growth in ND Oil Rigs

05/23/11 The director of North Dakota`s mineral resources agency is expecting a continued increase in the number of oil drilling rigs working in the state. Lynn Helms says oil companies now have about 176 rigs working in western North Dakota.
