09/30/09 Dr. Simon, M.D., 77, of the Locust section of Middletown, died Sept. 16, 2009, at home following a lengthy illness. He had his general practice in Red Bank, from 1963 until retirement in 2004. Prior to that, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He completed his internship at Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
09/30/09 Mr. Novelli, 72, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Sept. 19, 2009, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He resided in Sayreville prior to relocating to the Belford section of Middletown 21 years ago. He was a fireman for the Fire Department New York, Staten Island (N.Y.) Engine 157, for 26 years, retiring in 1986. He was also an expert carpenter and mason.
09/09/09 Mr. Reamer, 75, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 19, 2009, at Riverview Extended Care, Red Bank. He was a tractortrailer driver for 33 years at Jersey Coast Freight Lines, Neptune. Mr. Reamer was predeceased by a sister, Theresa MacIssac. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ellen Reamer; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph G.
09/01/09 Mr. Elyar, 86, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 18, 2009, at home. A builder for more than 50 years, he was the founder and president of Oakridge Builders. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Elyar. Mr. Elyar is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Elizabeth Elyar; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard Elyar of Lebanon, Pa.

She was an office secretary for Dr. Harry Swartz, Middletown, for several years, retiring in 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Mueller, in 1993; and a son, Matthew J. Mueller, in 1997.
08/12/09 Mrs. Mahler, 70, of the Belford section of Middletown, died July 26, 2009, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She is survived by her companion, Anthony Palandrano; a sister, Alicia Moody; a brother, Lloyd Mahler; two nephews; and two nieces. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Mary Mother of God Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown.
08/12/09 Mr. Leventhal, 72, of the Belford section of Middletown, died July 23, 2009, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was a retired member of the New York District Council Dock Builders Union Local 1456, for 35 years. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Leventhal.
