07/17/11 York, PA - Something unusual happened Friday afternoon while Ivy Jones sat on a front porch on South Pershing Avenue in York. The York City School District superintendent walked up and said hello, with a collection of educators, school board members and other community representatives in tow.

Sharon teachers OK 4-year contract with freeze

07/19/11 SHARON, Pa. (AP) - The Sharon City School Board in western Pennsylvania has approved a new 4-year contract with its teachers' union that includes a 1-year wage freeze, but calls on the district to pay more into the teachers' pension fund.
