WPIAL Baseball Playoffs: Seneca Valley edges Bethel Park

05/25/11 Offense was in short supply, but two runs were ultimately enough for Seneca Valley in a 2-1 WPIAL Class AAAA semifinal victory Wednesday against Bethel Park at North Allegheny. Seneca Valley junior pitcher Matthew Smith gave up a first-inning run, then pitched six consecutive scoreless innings en route the win.

Gualtieri getting ready to take over as North Allegheny superintendent

06/09/11 Raymond Gualtieri said he will need to go shopping before he takes the reins of the North Allegheny School District in August. "I'll have to buy more yellow ties to go with my dark suits," he said, adding that he always likes wearing the school colors.
