AYP targets up, success level down Most schools fail to hit new marks

04/01/11 Thursday March 31, 2011 BENNINGTON -- The proficiency targets Vermont schools needed to meet in order to make Adequate Yearly Progress took a substantial leap this year, as did the number of schools failing to meet the federal school accountability determination. Statewide, just 28 percent of schools met AYP this year, according to results released Thursday by the Department of Education.

Local graduation rates on the rise

05/05/11 The percentage of high school students graduating within four years in 2010 and 2009. The minimum rate to meet Adequate Yearly Progress under the federal No Child Left Behind law is 83 percent.

Glades Academy Elementary Charter School Achieves 'A' Grade

07/11/11 Glades Academy Elementary School achieved the two highest honors a school can receive during the 2010-2011 school year: an A rating and Adequate Yearly Progress , part of the federal No Child Left Behind program, for the second straight year.
