    Chunks of concrete fall from Charlotte high-rise

    03/04/10 Large clumps of concrete fell from a building in uptown Charlotte early prompting police and firefighters to cordon off a section of the street early Thursday morning.  The Charlotte Fire Department was called to the Builders Building located at 312 W. Trade Street after several softball-sized pieces of concrete fell onto the street around 11:37 p.m. Wednesday.

    Area briefs: Clemson to begin spring practice Sunday

    03/04/10 Clemson will begin spring football practice at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Practices will be open to the public at 3:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Tigers will hold two more open practices at 3:30 p.m. March 22 and 2:20 p.m. March 24. Clemson will wrap up practice with its annual spring game at 10 a.m. April 10.
