    02/18/10 A Kinston man is dead, after troopers say he passed out while driving. The Kinston Free Press reports 55-year-old Eldridge Kornegay, Jr. was driving on NC 11 just after 10am Wednesday morning, when he went off the road and ran into some trees. Troopers say he was driving at the posted speed limit.

    Remembering Earnhardt

    02/18/10 Dale Earnhardt died 9 years ago today.  In some ways, it seems ages ago, in others it's like yesterday.  Like most people in the Carolinas I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when it happened.  I was watching the Daytona 500.  It was coming down to what appeared to be an exciting finish, and when Earnhardt crashed into the wall, I didn't think that much about it.
