    02/09/10 A Salisbury mother is accused of being so drunk she let her 2-year-old child play in traffic on a busy street.  According to police, a trooper with the North Carolina Highway Patrol spotted the child in the street on South Main Street Thursday afternoon.

    02/09/10 RALEIGH, N.C. -- A North Carolina woman has pleaded guilty to filing a false report that her son was missing. The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that 43-year-old Rosnah Hassan Thomason of Johnston County pleaded guilty Monday to a federal charge of making false statements to police.

    02/09/10 FAR HILLS, N.J. -- James B. Hyler Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., has been elected to serve a one-year term as president of the U.S. Golf Association, USGA officials have announced.
