    Grieving husband plans funeral for wife killed in crash, puts matter in God's hands

    02/05/10 Michaela Maxwell, a 15-year-old recovering from a Tuesday night crash in which her mother was killed, goes in an out of sedation and, forgetting what she was told, asks where her mother is, her father said Friday. "She catches herself" as she remembers, said Jerry Maxwell, speaking publicly for the first time since his wife was killed. He said he tells daughter "she's up in heaven."

    02/05/10 New Castle men arrested on forgery, drug charges EL JEBEL - The Eagle County Sheriff's Office arrested Ivan Loya Maldonado, age 35, and Jamie Loya Valenzuela, age 31, both of New Castle, on Feb. 3 on charges of counterfeiting, a class 5 felony, and possession of a forged Instrument, a class 6 felony. Valenzuela was also charged with possession of cocaine (a class 6 felony). Both men are also ...

    02/05/10 San Juan Capistrano (California) officials rejected a $11,000 proposal to put GPS devices in police cars. In addition to tracking location, the devices were also to be used to evaluate smog and in total save the city some $15,000. Said one official of the plan: "I have a real problem with this," she said.

    UM researcher clarifies costs of alcohol abuse

    02/05/10 MISSOULA, MT - A University of Montana economist says alcohol-related injury crashes cost the state economy $131 million a year. Steve Seninger says adding that total to a colleague's earlier estimate of the economic cost of alcohol abuse in the state brings the total to $642 million.
