St. Tammany sends aid to St. Mary Parish

05/14/11 COVINGTON, La. (AP) - St. Tammany Parish officials are sending workers and equipment to St. Mary Parish, where preparations are under way for projected flooding from the Atchafalaya River.

St. Tammany continues to assist St. Mary Parish

05/20/11 The first crew from St. Tammany Parish returned home recently after spending three days making sandbags for the town of Amelia in St. Mary Parish. Located southeast of Morgan City, Amelia is in the southern portion of the Atchafalaya Basin which is taking on water from the opening of the Morganza Spillway. There are no levees in Amelia.

07/09/11 New sheriff named in St. Mary St. Mary Parish will have an new acting sheriff come Monday, who will fill the position until a new one is elected later this year.
