Shreveport's Allen blisters Mid-Am with opening 65

08/07/10 Burt Allen had gone low at Southern Trace before, but the former club champion hit uncharted territory in Friday's first round of the Louisiana Mid-Amateur Golf Championship. Allen, whose previous best on the par-72, 6,854-yard layout along Wallace Lake in south Shreveport was 66, reached 8-under par twice during Friday's opening round.
