06/07/11 The Kansas winter wheat harvest is picking up momentum as scorching temperatures are spurring the crop to reach maturity about a week earlier than normal. The five elevators owned by Farmers Co-op Grain in Sumner County already had taken in 750,000 bushels of wheat by this (TUE)afternoon.
