06/30/11 Agilent Technologies closed its Oak Ridge office when the Great Recession hit, transplanting the homegrown nano-instrumentation company to Chandler, Ariz., and leaving many of the 45 people who worked there without jobs.

Dow Corning employees plant energy crops for $100 million biomass power plant

07/01/11 The biomass energy facility will supply up to 40 megawatts of power to Dow Corning's Midland manufacturing site and will be one of the nation's largest power plants using gasification technology. The miscanthus seedlings planted Thursday could be used as fuel for the plant.
