07/16/11 AMANA, Iowa (AP) - Whirlpool Corp. is laying off about 315 workers from its refrigerator plant in Iowa. Workers were told of the layoffs on Friday. Randy Krewson, business agent for Machinists Local 1528, says 250 to 260 permanent and 55 to 60 temporary workers are losing their jobs.
