Bayonne hitters' patience pays off in district title

07/18/11 Usually championship games are won and lost by the performance of the starting pitcher. But in the Little League District 7/Section 2 Senior League Softball Championship at Bayonne Little League Park tonight, it was all about offense. Even a one-hour rain delay couldn't slow down the patient Bayonne hitters as they outslugged the Roberto Clemente team of Jersey City, 16-11.

CHATTER: Encino 12-under team wins first title in 25 years

07/20/11 Encino's 12-under all-star team ended a 25-year dry spell Tuesday, winning the Little League Section 2 baseball championship for the first time since 1986 with a 19-4 victory over Crescenta Valley at Encino Little League.
