Spanish Fort City Council elects Bobby J. Fortenberry to fill District 3 seat

04/13/11 Bobby J. Fortenberry has been elected by the Spanish Fort City Council to fill the District 3 seat. Fortenberry won the office by unanimous vote at a special council meeting Monday, beating out contenders Wendy Pickering and former Councilman Bob Pannone. A swearing-in ceremony is planned at the next regular council meeting on Monday, according to City Clerk Mary Lynn Williams.

Dr. Weldon Huske Jordan, 'a wonderful role model,' has died at age 87

07/14/11 Dr. Weldon Huske Jordan always wore a bow tie while working. Mary Lynn, his wife, said Thursday that her husband got a good chuckle the other day when she was admitting him to the hospital. A nurse on duty asked him why he wasn't wearing a bow tie.
