Cost of Spotsy schools' booklet almost $3,000

07/02/11 The Spotsylvania County school division spent $2,890 to print the booklet documenting the decade of accomplishments under Superintendent Jerry Hill. The division printed 500 copies of the 49-page, full-color booklet at a cost of $5.78 each, schools spokeswoman Sara Branner said this week in response to a Virginia Freedom of Information Act request....

Behind closed doors: Behavioral health center discussed by town committee

07/06/11 The troubled Palmetto Behavioral Health treatment center was discussed behind closed doors at a Town Council committee meeting Wednesday, apparently in violation of the state's Freedom of Information Act. Councilman Walter Bailey, the Public Safety Committee chairman, said only that the panel discussed legal matters concerning the center and did not specify what they were.
