Oaks take 14-0 record into the postseason

07/18/11 by Palo Alto Online Sports Semipro baseball The Palo Alto Oaks tuned up for defense of their Northern California state title by sweeping a doubleheader from visiting Fontanetti's, 5-0 and 18-5, on Sunday at Baylands Athletic Center. The Oaks wrapped up another regular-season title in the Western Baseball Association (Stan Musial Division) with a 14-0 mark.

Palo Alto Heat brings home a softball title

The Palo Alto 12U Heat, in fact, just captured its division championship at the annual Wess Jones Memorial Tournament in South San Jose this past weekend.

Solid JO tuneups for Stanford boys' teams

07/18/11 by Palo Alto Online Sports Youth water polo The SwimOutlet.com Junior Olympics is fast approaching, with the Stanford Water Polo Club sending its top boys' teams to Orange County at the end of the month for the annual national test, set for July 30-Aug. 2. The club's top four age-group teams finished no worse than 10th -- three finished among the top four -- at the recent US Club Championships.
