Marijuana plants discovered during NY house fire

07/11/11 Firefighters responding to the fire at 2:40 a.m. Sunday found four bedrooms filled with the plants. Yonkers Assistant Fire Chief George Kielb told the Journal News "it was basically a pot-growing house."

Mildred Gladys Hamm Sala, 91

07/11/11 Mildred Gladys Hamm Sala, 91, of Norwalk, died on July 9, at Norwalk Hospital . Born March 16, 1920 in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Earle Van Deusen Hamm and Isa Palmer Hamm , and her step-mother, Irene Griggs Hamm . A graduate of Norwalk High School , Class of June 1938, Sala worked locally as a hairdresser and beautician.
