VFW takes action for disabled veterans

07/09/11 The Veterans of Foreign Wars national organization sent out a communique this week in support of the "Hiring Heroes Act." The bipartisan bill would extend Chapter 31 (or "Voc Rehab") benefits for disabled veterans who have exhausted unemployment benefits, streamline the federal hiring process for separating service members, and make Transition Assistance Program attendance mandatory.
