Two people survive after car plunges into river

07/18/11 SPOKANE -- The Idaho State Patrol says a Newport, Wash., man was lucky to survive after his car plunged into the Pend Oreille River near the Idaho state line. The Spokesman-Review reports 20-year-old Ned Florea wiggled his way to the trunk of the 2003 Hyundai Tiburon and found a pocket of air that kept him alive as rescue crews and a tow-truck driver worked to get him out. Director talks past, plans for future

07/19/11 Keith Maxey was recently hired as the director for the Weld County office of Colorado State University Extension. Maxey is familiar to the office, as he worked there as the 4-H agent and dairy specialist for 15 years before starting his new position June 1.
