    Hawaii Superferry can give ships to lenders, court says

    07/03/09 Hawaii Superferry Inc. can abandon its ships to lenders owed $158.8 million for their construction, the company's bankruptcy judge ruled. The decision by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Peter Walsh on Wednesday means the vessels, moved from Hawai'i to a shipyard in Mobile, Ala., may be taken over by the federal agency that helped fund the ships' construction.
